The market, before the city.

The day begins at the market. Where the chef goes before service, among producers he has known for fifteen years.

Then his kitchen.

You are not served at a table. You are there, close, inside the gesture. Nothing is staged for you.

And his table.

Six seats. Never more. You enter what already exists.

This is not a restaurant. It is access to the real world of a Lyon chef. His market, his kitchen, his people. Nothing is reconstructed. The chef is not the product. The chef is the door.

The first table

It has already happened.

23 July 2026. Six people, one Lyon chef, one kitchen. The afternoon at the Halles Paul Bocuse, where the butcher who trimmed our poultry wears the blue-white-red collar of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, a title awarded by examination, before a jury, every four years.

Then five hours, from the stall to the last glass. Nothing was ordered in advance. Nothing was cooked twice.

Every photograph in this section was taken that day. Nothing was staged, nothing was lit, nothing was brought in.

The house

Behind the door, a person.

I started Off-Menu for a simple reason: the evenings I never forget did not happen in a dining room. They happened in someone’s kitchen.

So that is what we open. Not a platform, not a catalogue. The real world of a Lyon chef, chefs chosen one by one, and requests I read myself, one by one.

The first table happened on 23 July 2026. Six people, one chef, his own kitchen. The next one is set with you. Six chairs, every time.

Privatisation

Beyond six, made to measure.

The table holds six. That is the rule, and it is what makes it possible. For a larger group, a house gathering its own, an occasion that calls for another form, an evening can be written apart.

Up to ten guests the whole table is 4,500 €, and ten is the ceiling, because past ten the chef can no longer cook in front of the table. Anything else is spoken rather than picked from a grid: you tell us what you have in mind, we tell you what holds together.

The essentials

Off-Menu, at a glance

What it is
Off-Menu Lyon is a private dining label in Lyon, France. It is not a restaurant: there is no dining room, no menu and no opening hours.
How it works
Six guests spend one evening inside the real world of a Lyon chef: his market, his kitchen, his producers. Nothing is staged for the guests.
What it costs
500 € per person. 3,000 € for the whole table of six, 4,500 € up to ten. The price covers the entire evening, from the market to the last glass.
How to come
By application only. You write a few lines, Pierre-Alexandre reads every request himself and answers within 48 hours, in French or English.
When
The first table was held on 23 July 2026. The next one is set with you. The address changes with every table and arrives the day before. The chef goes to the market before he cooks, so an evening table shops in the afternoon and a table at midday shops at dawn.
Where
In and around Lyon: the chef’s kitchen, a producer’s farm in the Beaujolais or the Dombes, or his restaurant closed after service.

Questions

What we are asked most often.

Is Off-Menu Lyon a restaurant?

No. There is no dining room, no menu and no opening hours. The address changes with every table and reaches you the day before.

How much does an Off-Menu evening cost?

500 € per person, or 3,000 € for the whole table of six, and 4,500 € up to ten. That covers the entire evening, from the market to the last glass.

Can I book a date directly?

No. You write, and if the table fits you receive a date, an address and six chairs held. Every request is read by one person, not a system.

What if we are more than six?

The table holds six, and that is the rule. Beyond six, an evening is written apart: you say what you have in mind, we say what holds together.
